DJ Analyzer vs. Cary August – Mortal Kombat 2k11

CAPP Records, in association with Mental Madness Records (Germany), is pleased to bring you an amazing new release, Mortal Kombat (Techno Syndrome) 2k11. So amazing, in fact, that it broke into the Apple® iTunes® Music Store Top 100 dance albums within 72 hours of its release!

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the classic videogame, Mortal Kombat. To celebrate, we present an incredible new version of this classic cult anthem. The song has become the de facto theme song for the game; it dates back to 1993 when it saw its first single release—the same year the game was released for home game console play.

Diehard fans have been clamoring for an update to the song; Richard Dalton—DJ and programmer for Seattle’s C89.5 (KNHC), the top-rated dance radio station—tipped-off artist/producer Cary August to this fact in late 2010, and convinced him of the need to do an updated version.

Sold on the idea, August convinced fellow producer DJ Analyzer to work with him on the project, and then assembled a global team of today’s hottest dance producers to contribute remixes. Performing the vocals, August also dug a classic 15+ year old Korg synthersizer out of his basement, so he could recreate the warmth and character of the original synth lead.

For this release, CAPP wanted to ensure that the song was treated expertly, so it would remain faithful to the original track, while at the same time blazing new music trails. The DJ Gollum mix is designed for those diehard Mortal Kombat fans who covet the original version of the song, which itself comes in a vocal mix, and a dub instrumental for gamers.

To this, we’ve added a little something for everyone. The release begins with strong electro treatment from Thomas You. Jan van Bass-10 brings a strong hardstyle mix to the party, while Alex Hilton goes electro. Oliver Contestabile contributes a high-NRG house mix, and you’ll even find a dubstep treatment from Gimbal & Sinan! There’s even a killer new techno remix from none other than Brooklyn Bounce.

King Junior vs. Ricky Rich – Jailhouse Rock 2k11

CAPP Records, in association with Clubtronics (Germany), is pleased to bring you the return of long-time CAPP artist King Junior, in this release with Ricky Rich, bringing us Jailhouse Rock 2k11.

The name Ricky Rich may not be familiar, but this production newcomer from Germany is destined for a very bright career indeed. Possessing the musical genes of his superstar DJ/producer father—Rico Bernasconi—he’s already knocked it out of the park in Europe with chart success on his freshman release with Disco Pogo, also titled Disco Pogo. Rich worked closely on the project with star producer Tom Pulse.

King Junior (Rick Lenzi) has had countless releases on CAPP Records, dating back to 2004. But it was in 2002 that CAPP’s own Cary August happened to catch Lenzi on television, when the idea of pairing classic Elvis songs with today’s techno, house and pop sounds jumped to mind. Lenzi was enthusiastic about the idea, and as King Junior, his recordings for CAPP have been legendary in their own right.

The remix package for this release begins with the today’s biggest dance production team, DJs From Mars. These global superstars have taken the world of dance music by storm, remixing countless tracks for artists large and small, and performing live sellout shows around the world! The guys from DJs From Mars also worked with Rich’s dad Rico Bernasconi on an additional mix featured in this release.

Also included is a powerhouse hands-up techno mix from Megastylez, who have graced CAPP releases in the past. (In fact, this remix will be included on CAPP’s forthcoming compilation release, 50 Techno Electro Tunes, Volume 3, coming late 2011.)

Additional remixes come from Ricky himself, Bueno Clinic, and the amazing Tom Cut.

New Release: Massmann vs. Ippytraxx feat. Fab – Another Day in Paradise by Wesley King

Hey CAPP fans!  Check out our latest release!

Massmann vs. Ippytraxx feat. Fab – Another Day in Paradise

CAPP Records, in association with Tough Stuff! (Germany), is pleased to bring you another great summer release, Another Day in Paradise. The song will be familiar to some fans, as the original was one of Phil Collins’ best-known hits—the first single from his smash 1989 album titled, …But Seriously.

Now, superstar German producers Massmann and Ippytraxx take the song to an entirely new level, along with Italian-born singing sensation, Fab (Fabrizio Levita)—who has himself been featured on dozens of CAPP releases in recent years.

Massmann (Marcel Pschorn) has enjoyed tremendous success in Europe with his hard-trance project Restricted Area. After meeting fellow producer Chris van Dutch (Patrick Scholl) in 2008, the pair joined forces and created a pair of hits, When You’re Gone and Happy Ending. Then, in 2009, Massmann met Ippytraxx (Sebastian Ippendorf), the main producer of the legendary Ray Knox remix of Andrew Spencer’s global superhit, Zombie, released by CAPP in 2008. Ippendorf has remixed for Cascada, Aquagen, and many more, including Scholl’s own Commercial Club Crew.

With their incredible and diverse résumés, it was only a matter of time before Pschorn and Ippendorf came together to craft a great new release, as Massmann vs. Ippytraxx. Working with Scholl, and of course the flawless vocals of Fab, the end result is, itself, Another Day in Paradise!

The range of mixes included on this release should satisfy nearly any DJ. The original Radio and Club mixes reflect Massmann and Ippytraxx’s edgy origins, while the Dancecom mix runs things right down the middle of the road, with a slight edge provided by the strong saw wave synth hits. The Bigroom mix takes things in a more electro direction—the Strikeclub mix even more so, and edgier still—while JeSe goes true “handz-up!” techno all the way!

Hey CAPP fans!  Check out our latest release!

Tom Mountain feat. Nicco – Dance Hall Track

CAPP Records, in association with High Five Records (Germany), is pleased to bring you yet another great summer release, a new and original track from Tom Mountain, Dance Hall Track. We’re pleased to offer this track with a range of both mainstream and cutting-edge remixes that’ll find a home in any DJ’s set.

Tom Mountain has enjoyed a long and illustrious career as one of Germany’s most respected producing DJs, with time spent on radio, and in residencies within some of Europe’s top clubs. And for more than a decade, Mountain has produced cutting-edge sounds across numerous releases that have topped German dance charts, including the dance smash, Happy Together.

For Dance Hall Track, Mountain collaborated with L.A.’s Nicco Maniatty, who provided vocals for the track, as well as co-wrote it with Mountain and his colleagues André Ahuis and Alexander Perls.

Vocalist Nicco is himself no stranger to the techno scene, having worked extensively with a pair of Austrian producers renowned for their sound: Darius & Finlay.

For Dance Hall Track, CAPP brings you a range of mixes perfect to keep your summer parties electrified! The California Row mix goes in a scorching-hot electro house direction, while the Follow Me mix adds a sweet hip-hop twist to the song, along with up-and-coming rapper Play-Mate.

Rounding-out the package, the Inner Ryan mix heads straight to a reggaeton sound. Nasca and Noble take Dance Hall Track to “bigroom” electro-dance territory, while South Blast! and Crystal Rock go full-on with a killer hard electro mix. And finally, Stereo Palmago for a bigroom reggaeton mix, making sure all the bases are covered!

New Release: Tale & Dutch – Love Life by Wesley King

Hey CAPP fans!  Check out our latest release!

Tale & Dutch – Love Life

CAPP Records, in association with Tough Stuff! (Germany), is pleased to bring you an amazing new and original track from Tale & Dutch, Love Life. It’s the perfect complement to your summer sets, with a variety of both mainstream and cutting-edge remixes that’ll suit any dancefloor. This incredible track was already a Top 20 smash in Germany, and now CAPP brings it to North American dance audiences!

If you’re not familiar with Tale & Dutch, you soon will be, as this German duo is poised make serious inroads on the global dance scene. The pair is made-up of Rick Tale (Henrik Münchow) and Chris van Dutch (Patrick Scholl), best known as Commercial Club Crew, a hands-up act popular throughout Europe since 2004. Tale also produces projects as Phun & Key (electro-house), Age-M (trance) and Rick’n’Ryan (electro)—all of which are also represented on this release.

With a focus on more house- and pop-infused sounds, the two adopted the name Tale & Dutch. For this release, they worked with Mark Wild (Mark Hvilsted), an award-winning Danish singer and songwriter, who both provided the vocals for Love Life, as well as co-wrote the song with the UK’s Phil Ogden. We think you’ll agree the results are strong indeed!

The Original Mix is mainstream-ready with its solid pop hooks and razor-perfect production. The Classic Mix is equally mainstream friendly, but with an even “poppier” element to its sound. The Rick’n’Ryan mix pairs Wild’s warm vocal with a more progressive sound that features slick, evolving, and perfectly layered synths. The Phun & Key mix takes things a step farther, with a pronounced electro sound, while the Age-M remix raises the BPMs to 140, and steers the song in a decidedly trance direction. Finally for the straight-up, hands-up techno fan, the Inverno mix delivers end-to-end the sound that CAPP has become known for. All told, Love Life hits every dance button dead-on!

New Release: Dirty Impact vs. Royal XTC – Tom’s Diner by Wesley King

Hey CAPP fans!  Check out our latest release!

Dirty Impact vs. Royal XTC – Tom’s Diner

CAPP Records, in association with Trak Music (Austria), is pleased to bring you an incredible new take on a true classic from Austria’s Dirty Impact, together with fellow producers and DJs, Royal XTC.

Singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega’s classic composition, Tom’s Diner, has a rich and storied history. Written in 1981, and released shortly after, few were familiar with the song until nearly a decade later, when in 1990, Britain’s DNA remixed it and released their version to massive global success. After inspiring still more cover versions, in 1991, an entire album—logically titled Tom’s Album—was released that included the DNA version, along with versions from several other artists.

Interestingly, the track was also credited with helping the development of the MP3 file format. One of the engineers working on MP3 compression used the track the verify the quality characteristics of their algorithms, leading some to refer to Tom’s Diner as, “The Mother of the MP3.”

This incredible new version of Tom’s Diner comes to us from Austria, where the DJ/production team of Wolf Le Funk, Phil Maurice and Chris Antonio joined to form Dirty Impact. The trio has been working together for three years, heating-up the club scene as in-demand DJs in Austria, Germany, and Turkey, while producing several of their own tracks.

For Tom’s Diner, Dirty Impact joined with the trio Royal XTC (DJ X Treme, Tom, and East King Kolin Claus), and then engaged a group of some of Europe’s finest remixers to help polish-up, crank-up, and tune-up Tom’s Diner for a whole new audience—which we present to you here.

This release leads with a massive remix from PH Electro (Paul Hutsch), known for his recent CAPP release, Englishman in New York. And the scorching-hot duo DJs From Mars add their take as well. The package is rounded-out by five additional mixes, sure to suite nearly every taste!

Brooklyn Bounce vs. DJs From Mars – Club Bizarre

CAPP Records, in association with Mental Madness Records (Germany), is pleased to bring you the latest release from global hard dance superstars, Brooklyn Bounce, paired-up with today’s biggest dance producers and DJs, DJs From Mars!

Brooklyn Bounce, the German duo of Dennis Bohn and Matthias Menck, is one of dance music’s household names, having initially reached prominence clear back in mid-1990’s with their debut single, The Theme (of Progressive Attack), and massive follow-ups including Get Ready to Bounce and Loud & Proud, among others.

DJs From Mars, the Italian duo of Max Aqualuce and Luca Ventafunk, got their start in 2004. With releases including Open Sesame and Who Gives a Fuck About DJs, the pair build a following in Italy that quickly spread through Europe, and now, North America—having opened for Tiësto in performances here. In addition to their own releases, DJs From Mars are highly in-demand as remixers, having given their touch to releases from Armand De France, Rico Bernasconi, Eiffel 65, Fragma, PH Electro, DJ Skillmaster, and dozens more.

This track, Club Bizarre, has an interesting history by itself. Originally recorded back in 1994 by the German dance act U96, it became a Top 20 hit in the Netherlands, Sweden and Austria. Brooklyn Bounce did an initial take on the piece in 2001, on their album, Restart. Their version of the single was again well-received by dance lovers in the Netherlands and Austria.

“The track is so strong, we thought it deserved to be revisited once again,” explains Dennis “DJ Bonebreaker” Bohn of Brooklyn Bounce. “When we talked to the guys [DJs From Mars] about the idea of collaborating, they answered ‘yes’ before I even finished the question.”

The result is now out: Brooklyn Bounce vs. DJs From Mars, Club Bizarre! With remixes from DJs From Mars, Disco Freak, Thomas You, and db Pure, there’s a mix for every dance floor, giving all new life to this incredible dance hit!
