Punkrockerz feat. Carmen & Camille – IDGAF

The path from songwriting to the dance floor can occasionally be an interesting one, and CAPP Records is pleased to bring you our latest multi-national dance floor filler: IDGAF from Punkrockerz feat. Carmen & Camille.

The story begins with the amazing twin sisters turned musical artists, Carmen and Camille Thomas. Hailing from picturesque White Rock, British Columbia near Vancouver—hatching ground for many Canadian artists—the sisters came onto the music scene in 2006 with the release of their first album. But it was 2009′s Shine 4U that put these girls on the map, and establishing the “Carmen & Camille” name not only across Canada, but among pop and dance lovers in the know around the world.

Experimenting with what the girls call “passion pop,” they combine their trademark from-the-heart, honest lyrics with catchy dance floor hooks. The result has landed them into Canada’s Top 40 radio charts, as well as Billboard‘s Emerging Artists chart. They’ve been noticed and embraced by multiple magazines, made personal appearances on television, and had their music featured on multiple television shows as well.

The twins’ latest single IDGAF is poised to top the success of Shine 4U—and then some. The original version of the song on the girls’ own TwinSpin label is currently gaining momentum as it’s promoted throughout North America. In parallel, German producers Punkrockerz (who produced a remix for Shine 4U) got on-board with a massive dance floor take on the new song, complete with a wide range of incredible remixes, from the start. Now available in conjunction with our European label partner Mental Madness, CAPP brings you Punkrockerz feat. Carmen & Camille with IDGAF.

This Hamburg-based trio gives IDGAF a powerful, floor-filling treatment as the “original mix” on the release. They then called-in Manox, MD Electro, Crystal Rock and Vanilla Kiss to round out the release and take the song into still more new territory.

We’re fairly certain you can figure-out the meaning of “IDGAF”—but we’re quite certain that you’ll not only “GAF” over this massive release, but will agree that it’s one of strongest dance release this winter!

Hey CAPP fans!  Check out our latest release!

2-4 Grooves - Down (artwork cover) 2002-4 Grooves – Down

It was a true passion for dance music that drove Germany’s Stephan Drobez and Sascha Mulder to establish 2-4 Grooves over a decade ago, in 2002.

After successfully leveraging their DJ chops on the dancefloor to begin producing dance music, it wasn’t long before the remix requests began to pour-in from around the globe. And now, with well over 50 productions for the likes of Cascada, Alex C., Sylver, Basshunter and many more.

2006 saw the release of the guys’ first single of their own, The Way I Do. It was followed by Writing on the Wall in 2008, Relax in 2009, and several others since.

The guys still fill dancefloors worldwide, while continuing both to remix and release their own tracks. And now, in 2013, Drobez and Mulder bring you a fresh, new original track: Down.

Demonstrating that 2-4 Grooves still have what it takes to get EDM audiences worldwide to the dancefloor, Down is presented by CAPP Records with four original mixes put-down by the guys themselves. We’re certain you’ll agree that Down will become one of the hottest releases of the year.

New Release: 50 D.Trance Tunes, Volume 4

Hey CAPP fans!  Check out our latest release!

50-dtrance-tunes,-vol-4-20050 D.TRANCE Tunes, Volume 4

CAPP Records, in association with DJs Present (Germany), is pleased to bring you our latest value-packed compilation release, 50 D.TRANCE Tunes, Volume 4. This release represents our fifth major trance release (after our 50 D.TRANCE Tunes, Volumes 12 and 3 as well as 50 Eye Trance Tunes, Volume 1).

D.TRANCE is quite literally where it all began, inspiring the trance music movement which many big-name trance producers followed.

The D.TRANCE story started in 1995 when its three founders (Marcel Ewald, Gary D., and Ecki Stamer) had the idea to create “the mother of all compilations” for the (at that time) fledgling trance music community. The result—the original D.TRANCE 1—sold out in just three days. By the time D.TRANCE 3 came along, it shot to #2 in the German dance charts, and subsequent D.TRANCE issues have all hit the top 10. While other trance compilations have moved toward pop or in other directions, D.TRANCE has always stayed true to the purest form of trance music.

Early in 2010, CAPP Records introduced D.TRANCE to North America with our first volume, 50 D.TRANCE Tunes, Volume 1. Now, 50 D.TRANCE Tunes, Volume 4 brings you another 5 CD’s worth of digitally remastered, pure trance music, gathered from various D.TRANCE issues. It is quite literally the best of the best.

Finally, to round-out this fourth volume in the series, we even revisit some of the older trends in trance, including UK Mákina. This sub-genre combines some of the elements of techno with those of hard trance, resulting in a unique, edgy sound that we think you’ll agree helps make 50 D. TRANCE Tunes, Volume 4 our very best yet!

We hope you enjoy this power-packed compilation of some of the past decade’s most amazing, most successful, and most talked-about trance tracks.

Look for additional releases in the Eye Trance and D.TRANCE series, and be sure and check-out our amazing electro and techno compilations as well, including the 50 Techno Electro Tunes and Bounce! series.

Hey CAPP fans!  Check out our latest release!

King Junior – Suspicious Minds 2k12

The amazing King Junior (Rick Lenzi) has had countless releases on CAPP Records, dating back to 2004. But it was in 2002 that CAPP’s own Cary August happened to catch Lenzi on television, when the idea of pairing classic Elvis® songs with today’s techno, house and pop sounds jumped to mind. Lenzi was enthusiastic about the idea, and as King Junior, his recordings for CAPP have been legendary in their own right.

Lenzi, as King Junior, is probably one of the world’s best Elvis Presley impersonators, and has won countless competitions. Of course it’s no wonder—he walks, talks, looks, and most importantly sings like the real thing!

The song Suspicious Minds was one of Elvis Presley’s most notable hits. The single went number one in 1969 and was his seventeenth #1 single in the United States. The famous music magazine Rolling Stone ranked it #91 on their list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.

In this re-recording of Suspicious Minds, King Junior pays homage to the king of rock ‘n’ roll, while making the legend live again. With an amazing trio of remixes from Giogio Gee, Sunrider, and Eric Chase, it fits not only radio but also dance floors worldwide. This new interpretation truly carries Presley’s legacy into the next generation of music lovers.

Once you hear Suspicious Minds, we think you’ll agree: Elvis has definitely not left the building after all…

Hey CAPP fans!  Check out our latest release!

SUNN – Shoulda

Introducing SUNN: A fresh, new, charismatic breath on the music scene, and a warm, distinctive new voice in dance. A solid singer/songwriter who pens original melodic hooks and upbeat songs, SUNN shines brightly as the new face of EDM, with her debut release, Shoulda.

Born and raised in San Diego, California, and having started in musical theater as a child, today SUNN has been described as “Katy Perry vs. Lady Gaga meets Taylor Swift.” But SUNN’s style is truly her own, from her skillful songwriting to her cutting-edge dance productions.

With millions of views for her cover song videos on YouTube, SUNN has been building a loyal fan base that’s been clamoring for her official debut: Shoulda. Written by SUNN herself, Shoulda tells a very personal story we can all relate to—one of overcoming a bad relationship where disrespect and being done wrong become the fuel to overcome and persevere—all delivered right from the heart.

After having SUNN brought to his attention, CAPP Records head Dom Toulon was impressed with these same live piano-vocal covers that SUNN has posted to YouTube, including her rendition of the David Guetta/Sia hit, Titanium, which garnered SUNN nearly 2 million views! After contacting CAPP partner YAWA Recordings (Germany) for an opinion, YAWA’s Jens O. produced a sample hands-up mix of the track, and SUNN’s entry into the EDM scene was cemented.

For Shoulda, CAPP Records has paired SUNN’s beautiful voice with incredible production from some of the biggest electro-house and hands-up producers on the scene today, including Tale & Dutch, Phun & Key, Pit Bailay, Crystal Lake, Jens O., and Inverno. After debuting the track in early 2012 at the invitation of the ever-popular Richard Dalton at a sold-out Listener Appreciation Party for C89.5 (KNHC) radio in Seattle. And after captivating the audience with her charm, talent and charisma, we are now pleased to let the “SUNN” shine on you, too!

Hey CAPP fans!  Check out our latest release!

DJ Gollum vs. Empyre One – The Bad Touch

Since the early 90’s, Pennsylvania-based rockers Bloodhound Gang have made a name for themselves with off-beat, innuendo-filled lyrics, set over competent, genre-twisting music.

One of their biggest global hits was 1999’s The Bad Touch. While the single was only a moderate success here in the USA, it was a massive Top 10 smash hit across Europe, scoring the #1 position in several countries in the region, including Germany.

It makes sense then that German techno superstars DJ Gollum and Empyre One would join forces to revisit this racy classic, updating it for a new decade and spanning all of today’s EDM genres!

Of course, we bring you all the Hands-Up mixes we’re known for here at CAPP, including mixes from the artists—one from DJ Gollum and one from Empyre One—along with RainDropz! vs. AlexKea, and Phillerz as well. Electro/Progressive is represented by Alex Gap and L.A.R.5, while we go even harder with a Hard Electro/Dubstep mix from Steinberg & Showtime. We shoot right for the Dance/Club mainstream with mixes from the inimitable Andrew Spencer, along with an original Bigroom mix. We even enter the Funky/Deep House realm with a mix from Gordon & Doyle—covering all the bases for EDM lovers of all stripes!

We think you’ll agree: 2012 is a great time to join DJ Gollum and Empyre One in proving that The Bad Touch keeps dance lovers on the floor better than ever!
