Pepper MaShay—Freeway of Love
You may have thought you knew CAPP Records, but we’ve been shaking it up this year, and now we’re turning everyone’s impressions upside-down with the release of the latest single from Pepper MaShay, Freeway of Love.
The inimitable Pepper MaShay—globally known and universally loved—brings attitude, heart and soul to every release that’s been graced by her vocals. Originally a session singer for the likes of Tina Turner, Cher, Mick Jagger, Celine Dion and others, Pepper has gone on to establish herself as a true dance diva. Perhaps best-known for her contributions to Barry Harris’ dance mega-hit Dive in the Pool (the unofficial anthem from Showtime Television’s Queer as Folk), Pepper has recorded dozens of songs over her career, including I Got My Pride, Lost Yo Mind, and the incredible I Can’t Stop.
Pepper draws throngs of loyal fans during her frequent appearances around the world, and has been performing Freeway of Love throughout the summer to enthusiastic reviews. Penned by Narada Michael Walden and Jeffrey Cohen for Aretha Franklin’s legendary 1985 album Who’s Zoomin’ Who, fans and DJs alike have been clamoring for the release of Freeway of Love.
The wait is over; CAPP Records is pleased to present this incredible release. With remixes from Steely M. & Cary August, Dany Wild, Oscar Salguero, and many more, there’s a mix to suit any crowd. From filter house, to progressive, to electro, we think you’ll agree that Pepper MaShay has never sounded so good—or so hot! It’s the perfect “CAPP” to a great summer!
Check-out Freeway of Love! Available now in the Apple iTunes Music Store; coming soon to AmazonMP3 and other online digital download stores.
NOTE: Pepper MaShay is available for live club/DJ bookings. Just visit our booking site at: http://www.cappbooking.com.

Hey CAPP fans! Check out our latest release!
Rico Bernasconi—Love Deep Inside
One of the hottest trends in dance music in the past couple of years is introducing strong elements from other genres, including country, guitar-laden rock, and most identifiably, reggae—as popularized by producer Bob Sinclar and his use of vocalist Gary “Nesta” Pine. Audiences have responded enthusiastically to this “cross-pollination” of styles, and now, CAPP Records is bringing you a Billboard-bound, reggae-infused original dance track poised to be a summer hit: Love Deep Inside.
Both written and produced by Europe’s Rico Bernasconi, and featuring the vocals of Toni Tuklan, Love Deep Inside brings it home with a range of great remixes, a meaningful and well-presented vocal, and an infectious groove that will find a home in both radio and club play.
Rico Bernasconi’s name may not be immediately identifiable, but the experienced producer has been rocking dance music lovers worldwide for years. As a founding member of both Master Blaster (with the global hit Hypnotic Tango), as well as Vinylshakerz (One Night in Bangkok, Club Tropicana, and others), and performing under the name “Rico Bass,” Bernasconi has a unique sense of what works, and the ability to create a wide range of sounds and styles in the dance genre.
Check-out Love Deep Inside, and we’re confident you’ll be as excited about this new release as we are. Available now in the Apple iTunes Music Store; coming soon to AmazonMP3 and other online digital download stores.

From our official press release last week:
CAPP COMPANY FORMALLY LAUNCHES TWO DANCE RADIO STATIONS
iDanceRadio.fm and iDanceTechno.fm go live on Apple iTunes® Radio
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – June 3, 2009 – CAPP Company, parent of dance record label CAPP Records, announced today the official launch of its two new Internet-based radio stations, iDanceRadio.fm and iDanceTechno.fm, coinciding with their inclusion in the Apple iTunes® Radio listings, included with every copy of the iTunes software.
Both radio stations have been available to the public for several months following a late-2008 “soft launch.” Since this soft launch, station staff have been carefully tweaking both the stations’ technology, as well as the music programming found on each.
iDanceRadio.fm is targeted to mainstream dance music lovers, and with the tagline, “Today’s Best Dance, Today’s Best Variety,” provides an array of dance music that is unique in its breadth and depth. With a cohesive blend of filter house, mainstream remixes, progressive house, electro, and even commercial and crossover techno and trance represented, iDanceRadio.fm is well-situated to be an Internet dance radio powerhouse. In addition to its 24/7 blend of dance music, non-stop DJ mixshows are featured Wednesday through Sunday—many of them unique to iDanceRadio.fm—from some of the world’s best DJs.
iDanceTechno.fm is targeted toward the vastly underserved North American fan base for techno, including hands-up, hardstyle and jumpstyle. While techno music is a huge seller in the U.S. and Canada on Apple iTunes Music Store, there is little domestic support for the genre among record labels and radio stations. CAPP Records serves this market with many of its releases, and now, through iDanceTechno.fm, provides a strong radio foundation to these predominantly young and fiercely enthusiastic fans.
The stations are actively promoting alternative listening approaches as well. “Internet radio no longer means being tied to your PC,” explains iDanceRadio.fm program director Wesley Bryant-King. “You can listen to both our stations using your Apple iPhone or BlackBerry, and take your dance radio with you practically anywhere you go. Our bandwidth-friendly but great-sounding secondary streams make it easy and reliable.”
Alongside the formal launch of stations, CAPP Company is initiating an extensive marketing campaign to promote them both. Dom Toulon, CAPP Company CEO and iDanceTechno.fm program director, explains, “We’re really getting the word out about these stations with an online advertising campaign, and a unique marketing program with iTunes.”
The web site of iDanceRadio.fm is available today at www.idanceradio.fm, and includes a weekly music chart, mobile listening instructions, and more. iDanceTechno.fm fans will gain a full web site this summer; until then, they can still tune-in at www.idancetechno.fm.
While both stations are sponsored by CAPP Records, within their respective genres, they play without bias the great music of any artists or record labels, worldwide. Both stations operate in full legal compliance, and pay applicable licensing and performance royalties to SoundExchange, ASCAP, BMI and SESAC.

Hey CAPP fans! We’re a bit behind on letting you know about our most recent releases, but they’re still mega-fresh and ripe for picking… up at iTunes!
De-Grees vs. The Real Booty Babes—Apologize
In 2006, alt rock band OneRepublic recorded Apologize, written by the groups’ frontman, Ryan Tedder. In 2007, it went on to become a global mega-hit, hitting the #1 position on charts from Australia to the US to Germany, and selling more than 10 million units worldwide. Now, CAPP Records presents an incredible dance floor reinterpretation of the song that—dare we say—might well be better than the original!
Featuring the powerful vocals of Kristian Sandberg, Apologize is a collaboration between five German producers. First, production trio De-Grees: Ti-Mo, and Verano’s Stefan Rio and Marco Juliano. And next, The Real Booty Babes: Jens Ophälders and Jens Kindervater. Together, they have re-thought and re-envisioned Tedder’s powerful song about love and loss.
The well-rounded remix package covers a wide range of musical territory. The radio-friendly treatment by Sunloverz and superstar producer Michael Mind will please almost any crowd, while the edgier mix from Ti-Mo and Stefan Rio brings incredible energy to the mix. There’s even a cutting-edge jumpstyle techno treatment from jumpstyle superstars, Picco and Jens-O.
If you’re looking for a strong track to add to your iPod for spring, give Apologize a listen, and snag your favorite mixes today!
Jan Wayne vs. RainDropz!—Numb
More and more clubbers and dance music enthusiasts are embracing the twin trends of higher BPMs, and an edgier, rock-inspired sound that brings killer electric guitars onto the dance floor. And CAPP Records has you covered!
We started with the rock-infused Here Without You, then brought you Apologize. And now we unveil our latest high-energy, guitar-laced creation, Numb! The work of one of Germany’s most recognizable producers, Jan Wayne (pronounced “yon”), and the duo RainDropz! (Dennis Logemann and Sascha Weiland), Numb is the perfect track to dial-up the heat on the dance floor from spring into summer.
With the incredible rock vocals of Kristian Sandberg, and mixes that go from electro to hands-up to jumpstyle, this release offers something for everyone. Initially circulated as an immensely popular bootleg in Europe, Numb is finally legitimately available to dance fans here in North America.
Give it a listen… We think you’ll agree that this is one smokin’ hot single!
Sample Them Now
Both of these tracks, along with all our recent single and scorching-hot compilation releases are available for preview on our web site. And once you’ve picked your favorite mixes (or the whole release!), snag your copies on iTunes with a simple click-through.
What’s Next?
If you think we’re done here at CAPP, you’ve not seen anything yet! We have a whole list of releases queued-up on the decks for the weeks and months ahead, including both incredible singles you won’t believe, and some amazing new compilations that continue our commitment to providing the hottest dance music today with incredible value. Stay tuned!

CAPP Records is pleased to announce the release of another hot new dance track for late winter, Here Without You. Coming from Andrew Spencer and Lazard, it’s a kickin’ reinterpretation of the song from American rock band 3 Doors Down, the release package has several great mixes available.
Here’s the official press release:
Andrew Spencer vs. Lazard – “Here Without You ‘”
One of Germany’s most in-demand producers, Andrew Spencer, returns from his global hits Zombie and To Be With You, to team with one of Europe’s hottest female DJs, Lazard. The result is the incredibly addictive, melodic track, Here Without You.
Initially tested under the producer moniker “Gino M. & Ray K.,” Here Without You has generated intense underground buzz as a bootleg. Now, as a joint venture between German labels Mental Madness and Pulsive Media, and brought to the U.S. by CAPP Records, the track gets a full remix package with versions that work on any dance floor, and in any mixshow!
Mixes include treatments from global stars 2-4 Grooves; Alex M. vs Marc van Damme; Verano; and Topmodelz. Plus Spencer and Lazard deliver a gripping electro-house version, along with a great “candlelight” ballad version.
We think you’ll agree that Here Without You is the late winter dance hit you’ve been waiting for!

Our own Rikah, songstress behind Out of Time, Got 2 B Real and Everything is Changing will be performing live this Friday in Seattle, at the C89.5 Listener Appreciation Party.
C89.5 is one of the few terrestrial dance radio stations remaining in the United States, and is listener-supported. We work hard to support them, and Rikah has frequently appeared by telephone during C89.5 pledge drives. This is the first time she’s been invited to perform live for the station, and we’re very pleased to be sending her to do so.
Our own DJ Brian Howe, who performs nationally and who has been heard on XM Satellite Radio, our own iDanceRadio.fm, and many others, is accompanying Rikah for the performance and making sure she sounds as awesome on-stage as we know she does on CDs and in parking lots everywhere.
(To explain, she did an impromptu rendition of Ave Maria in the parking lot of a CAPP Records staff event last year.)
If you are in Seattle, can be or will be this Friday, please consider supporting C89.5 by making a donation and attending the party. More information is on their web site at http://c895worldwide.com.
Filed under: CAPP Records | Tags: aacPlus, BlackBerry, BrainSpark Media, iDanceRadio.fm, iPhone, Winamp
Late last week, we launched the brand new web site of the new Internet dance radio station we sponsor, iDanceRadio.fm. We love how the site looks (it was designed by BrainSpark Media), and we’re excited to get it up and running.
One of the best features of the site is the listener forums. (You can access them from the tab at the top of the site.) There, you can talk about the music, tell us what you like and don’t like, ask technical questions, and more. Just register for a free account, and get involved. (We’re still working on customizing the look of the forums, so they’ll be evolving a bit over time, but don’t let that stop you from getting involved!)
As our web site says, too, we’ll be launching a new aacPlus format stream soon. aacPlus is an encoding method that will allow us to deliver the same sound quality, with only 35% of the bandwidth. Our current stream runs at 128 kbps, meaning that broadband is a must. While you can listen with an iPhone or BlackBerry (as we explain on our site under the Listen tab), it’s a bit dicey at 128 kbps. The aacPlus stream will operate at just 48 kbps, but still delivering great audio quality, and it’s perfect for our iPhone and BlackBerry listeners. (PC users can use it too; many audio players, including Winamp, are aacPlus compatible.) Stay tuned for details.

One of the few terrestrial (e.g., AM/FM) dance music radio stations on-air in the United States is KNHC, 89.5 FM in Seattle, known as “C-89.5.” As a dance music radio station, CAPP supports the station and its mission, and as a listener-supported (“public”) radio station, we quite literally support the station in a number of different ways, including direct financial contributions.
Today, Halloween, our own Rikah is participating in C-89.5’s live pledge drive, thanking contributors on the air, and chatting with the station jocks. The entire CAPP team is thrilled to be a part of KNHC’s fall pledge drive, and we encourage you to learn more and pledge as well via their web site at http://c895worldwide.com.
For those unfamiliar, C-89.5 has been active in Seattle for over 35 years. The station is owned by the Seattle Public Schools and is operated by students of Nathan Hale High School as part of a radio broadcasting course. Production, programming, music selection, copy, and on-air hosting is done by the student staff. Some regular programs are hosted by alumni and other volunteers.
While the station can be heard throughout the Seattle area, anyone can listen online. Just visit the web site (link above), and tune-in with your favorite music player.
We hope you’ll take some time out to listen to and support this great radio resource!
Last week, we blogged about Internet radio, and what we here at CAPP are doing to support it, including our advertising on iPartyRadio.com and Fusion Radio Chicago.
A few months ago, CAPP Records embarked on its own online radio initiative with the start-up of two new Internet radio stations: iDanceRadio.fm, and iDanceTechno.fm. We didn’t do this to compete with or undermine what other online stations, including those we support with advertising dollars, are doing. Instead, we wanted to bring a slightly different twist, and offer yet another choice as listeners “channel surf” online.
iDanceRadio.fm is our more mainstream, more adult focused station. Our differentiator is variety; you’ll hear filter house, progressive, electro, techno, some trance, mainstream pop remixes, and more. We’ll feature current charting songs, and reach back into older tracks too. Of course we’ll be playing the entire CAPP Records catalog, but we’re by no means limiting ourselves to that. If it’s quality dance music, we don’t really care which record label issued it, so you’ll hear tracks from Robbins, Ultra, Tommy Boy, Warner, Sony and practically every independent and one-off dance label you can think of.
iDanceTechno.fm is just what the name suggests: the best in techno. Techno, in particular, is just not given its due in the United States, and we’re looking to change that. Based on what we know from our own music sales, there’s an audience in the U.S., largely a youthful one, that’s hungry for techno in all its forms, and we want to deliver it. As with iDanceRadio.fm, sure, we’ll play the CAPP Records techno catalog, but you’ll also hear quality techno from virtually every record label that puts it out. And as the record label responsible for bringing jumpstyle techno to the U.S., you can count on hearing this cutting-edge style on iDanceTechno.fm.
Both of our radio stations are still in the process of being developed, fine-tuned and expanded. Also, for the time being, you’ll notice that they link back to the CAPP Records home page, and there are banners there to click to tune-in. Later this year, each will get a web site of its own.
Check them out, and keep checking as we polish the edges in the months ahead. And please let us know how we’re doing; contact information is on the Contact page of the CAPP Records web site.
